Microsoft cries foul over Google tie up with Yahoo Japan

Microsoft cries foul over Google tie up with Yahoo Japan

Yahoo Japan's decision to replace Microsoft MCTS Training with Google as its main search partner has been met with protest from Microsoft, which called the deal "anticompetitive."

"This agreement is even more anticompetitive than Google's deal with Yahoo in the United States and Canada that the Department of Justice found to be illegal," Brad Smith, Microsoft's general counsel, said in a statement sent to reporters. "The 2008 deal would have locked up 90 percent of paid search advertising. This deal gives Google virtually 100 percent of all searches in Japan, both paid and unpaid."
Seven Key Challenges You Can't Ignore: Download now

Microsoft declined to say if it will try to challenge the deal on legal grounds. Smith was referring to an advertising agreement that Google and Yahoo were considering in 2008. They abandoned it after the DOJ said it would try to block the deal on antitrust grounds.

Earlier Tuesday, Yahoo Japan said it had signed a deal with Google to provide it with search and related advertising services. The deal should see Google providing search results for Yahoo Japan by the end of the year.

The deal raised eyebrows because Microsoft and Yahoo have a broad search and advertising partnership in the U.S. and many other countries, intended in part to help them compete better against Google.

That deal doesn't extend to Japan, however, where Yahoo owns only 34 percent of Yahoo Japan. The majority is owned by Japan's Softbank.

According to Microsoft MCITP Certification, the deal means there will be "no search competition in Japan and that Google will end up controlling all personal search information for all Japanese consumers and businesses."

Google referred questions to its public relations team in Japan, which wasn't immediately available to comment.

Yahoo operates some of the most popular websites in Japan. In May they were visited by almost nine out of 10 Internet users in the country, according to recent figures from comScore.

Microsoft confirms nasty Windows zero-day bug

Microsoft confirms nasty Windows zero-day bug
For now, Microsoft said users could block attacks by disabling the displaying of shortcuts, and turning off the WebClient service. Both moves require editing the Windows registry, a chore most people avoid for fear of crippling their computers. Disabling shortcut files also will make it more difficult for users to launch programs or open documents.

That advice is all the help that those still running Windows XP SP2, the service pack that was retired from all support last Tuesday, will get from Microsoft MCTS Training.

"Noticeably absent from [Microsoft's list of affected software] are Windows 2000 and Windows XP SP2 as they are no longer supported," said Wisniewski. "They are, however, definitely still vulnerable." Microsoft also retired all editions of Windows 2000 from support last week.

Wolfgang Kandek, the chief technology officer of Qualys, echoed Wisniewski's concerns about XP SP2 and Windows 2000 going patchless. "We assume the attack works against both of them and attackers will surely take advantage of this security hole ," Kandek said Saturday.

Microsoft MCITP Certification said that all still-supported versions of Windows, including Windows XP SP3, Vista, Server 2003, Windows 7, Server 2008 and Server 2008 R2, contain the bug. The betas of Windows 7 SP1 and Server 2008 R2 SP1, which the company released last week, are also at risk.

Linux Memory: How Much Does Your System Require

Linux Memory: How Much Does Your System Require
The trick of Linux basic cognitive process can be en”>\ned with the deficit of the material basic cognitive process. Various ethics development several types of memories and the aim developmentr should have some mind about the memory of the ethic he or she developments. The big sake that can be carried from the Linux memory is that it is more confident when been to Microsoft or Windows. Its performance is much high-topped on the riping superiority munition. Due to this magnet, many users who have the genuine turning of windows Microsoft MCTS Training 98 have bulged to fluctuation over today

The fact of the subject, nevertheless, is that the power of new computers has been increased and hence many features have been added to the desktop environments of the Linux memory. Due to this consequence, many distributions with the default will give a low level of performance when it is installed on the hardware of old version. It has run sincere in many new applications and besides many vane browsers like Fire canine and FDA suites like unenclosed FDA that are featured in full. When the same is weed to pour on an instrumentality that has the susceptibility of 128 MB RAM, it will be an angry ordeal

How a solution can be derived for this problem? It is quite simple. The antediluvian corneous load has to be given tongue to or in other words it has to be assigned. A brand-new remembering can be put in. When it is tried to have the substance with Linux memory, there should not be any emotion as this Linux global organization is known for many years and possesses a goody-goody brunt in the technology of element.

In many cases, the first essential broker that has to be believed is the show of the switching organisation and the capableness of computer storage gettable in the same. In some computers, the computer hardware may be very tight but the memory will not be upto the hoped degree and thusly the computer hardware will not be put to the fullest coverage.

The grouping will be (U) to to scrap its spell in data transferring between the change separation and the corporal basic cognitive process so willing the CPU faineant for most of the spell. Hence it is better to amount the functioning of the past political machine by gaining its memory activity and drug of abuse. But this may not be practicable in many systems cod to different reasons. Some of them are RAM speed and lack of free of slots etc. Some systems may not be noteworthy for depleting medium of exchange on them due to their long time Microsoft MCITP Certification

If, on the other hand, if the system is not fit for upgrading, then the next available good choice is to decrease the RAM requirement to make the system work better than before. Overall, it is well to variety the calendar if there is no cell to raise it. The system has to be informed every nowadays and so for entering it at equation with the business enterprise vogue

Soon PCs to read emotions in text

Soon PCs to read emotions in text
Sentiment-analysis tools will be able to read the emotions and feelings expressed in blogs and comments posted by users.

Internet users often post blogs and comments on the Web to be read by others. Software agents like search engine spiders and spambots that roam the Web merely read Web pages but fail to understand the feelings expressed in the content Microsoft MCTS Training.

However, very soon there will be an agent that will be capable of understanding the emotional content of what users write. And that agent is expected to soon arrive at your desktop.

These ‘sentiment analysis' tools are part of a wider area of computer science that's engaged in trying to teach computers to understand the emotions expressed in text, the way humans do. The commercial applications of such technology can be gauged by how some companies are affected by customer blogs as much as advertising campaigns, reports New Scientist.

There are companies like Sentimine, Adaptive Semantics and Lexalytics, which are already using the ‘sentiment-aware' software that gauges emotional responses brought about by the company or its products Microsoft MCITP Certification.

Right now, sentiment-analysis tools are only available to big corporations, but soon they are expected to be widely available at cheaper prices or even for free.

Changing The World, In 140 Characters Or Less!

Changing The World, In 140 Characters Or Less!
What does Benazir Bhutto's assassination in Pakistan have in common with monitoring the voting process in the 2008 US presidential poll, or with the fires at San Diego, or with trying to find technical solutions in cyberspace?

During the course of all these events, the Internet-based tool called Twitter was used by the general public to share information and build networked knowledge, says a new guide from Digiactive.org

Titled 'The DigiActive Guide to Twitter for Activism' and available free from cyberspace (www.digiactive.org/2009/04/13/twitter_guide/ ), the brief 22-page report explains in a nutshell what this fairly young tool is all about.

Says the guide, authored by Andreas Jungherr, a German political science student from Mainz:

During late 2007 and early 2008, a new social media service emerged amid great hype from marketers and social media enthusiasts. Twitter [http://twitter.com] has since been adopted by activist groups around the world. If you have heard about this 'Twitter thing', but you do not yet know how and if Twitter relates to you or your organisation, please read on. This short guide provides an introduction to Twitter, offers some advice on best practices, and draws on five case studies to demonstrate possible uses of Twitter for political activists.

Going back to the beginning, what exactly is Twitter?

Twitter is a micro-blogging service that enables its users to publish short messages of upto 140 characters in length, on a personalised news feed. Users can update their feed directly through the Twitter website, or they can use various desktop and mobile applications, including SMS messaging.

After introducing Twitter, this slim guide takes up examples from the real-world (some cited above), and gives tips on how to organise your Twitter campaign Microsoft MCTS Training.

It points to other applications that could make Twitter more productive, to micro-blogging alternatives to Twitter, and further reading.

As it correctly points out:

Right now, one of the biggest challenges for political activists is getting news out on events
that are relevant for their cause but not yet on the radar of the traditional media. Often traditional media outlets are not interested in the stories activists wish to promote. Through Twitter, activists have a new channel to spread news around the world, even while events are still unfolding.

But questions remain.

In a world where cyber-optimists and cyber-pessimists disagree strongly about the positive impact virtual technology can have on the real world, there is bound to be disagreement.

More so, as the powerful mainstream media sometimes hypes up certain isolated cases, which then is believed as if it were the undiluted truth.

This is nevertheless a useful guide. It offers one the basic skills... and more. What it doesn't tell you is the kind of campaigns Twitter could be useful in, and where it wouldn't work Microsoft MCITP Certification .

As a friend said, some large countries have only a few Twitterers (people using Twitter). So, should you wait for it to spread or can you think of pushing change? And is Twitter just the current fashion-of-the-day, which will be promptly forgotten when cyberspace throws up its next new toy?

Try the guide, use it for your activism, and report back please :-)

Is Microsoft really going to keep pricing for Custom Support flat in 2009?

Is Microsoft really going to keep pricing for Custom Support flat in 2009?

We've received many questions regarding our recent announcement to keep Custom Support prices flat for the 2009 contract year. In resposne to this we've compiled the following list of Frequently Asked Questions:

Is Microsoft MCTS Training really going to keep pricing for Custom Support flat in 2009?
The answer is YES…. Microsoft is aware that customers are making hard financial choices in today’s economy. Every day there is news of Fortune 100 company layoffs, downsizing and reorganization. Microsoft has announced flat year-over-year (YOY) pricing for Custom Support for select products and service packs in Custom Support for 2009.

What IS Custom Support anyway, I never heard of it!
The Custom Support program provides customers with the opportunity to receive support on legacy versions of some Microsoft products and service packs that have reached the end of support.

Why is Microsoft doing this?
To respond to the current market downturn and customer needs, Microsoft MCITP Certification is not going to increase the price for the 2009 contract year, but will maintain the 2008 pricing.

How does this decision help customers?
This price freeze not only provides cost savings to Microsoft customers but enables them to maintain support on older versions of Microsoft products until they have had the opportunity to complete their migration to supported versions.

Is Custom Support available for ALL legacy Microsoft products?
No, Custom Support is currently only available for a select number of products. For details on which products are covered, please contact your Microsoft Technical Account Manager or other Microsoft Account Representative.

Can any customer purchase Custom Support?
Only customers enrolled in Premier Support can purchase Custom Support. To learn more about Premier Support, point your browser here:
http://www.microsoft.com/services/Microsoftservices/srv_premier.mspx

I still have questions and need more information. Who do I contact?
If you still have questions, please contact your Microsoft Technical Account Manager or other Microsoft Account Representative. They will be able to provide you with additional details on the Custom Support program and the impact of this annoucement.

I hope this information helps to clarify the situation. If you have other questions, please feel free to leave a comment to this posting! We will do our best to answer them.

We dream of building a company that the budding entrepreneurs around the world and in SiliconValley would like to emulate
S. Sridharan is the managing director of TAKE Solutions Ltd, a leading international business technology company with solutions and technology expertise in Life Sciences, Supply Chain Management, Business Process Management and Business Intelligence.
S. Sridharan

CMD of INTEX Technologies

When we started TAKE in 2001, as a product company, we knew we were treading a path unexplored by many in the Indian market. In addition to this, we were born when the dotcom bust was in full swing. There was gloom everywhere. People wondered, 'A product company from India? No way!' The belief was on off shoring and staffing. People suggested there were millions to be made in this. But we had a dream beyond this, to be a different company. We were looking at a non-linear growth model that would set a trend in India. A revenue model that leveraged the Indian advantage to create IPRs (Intellectual property rights) that translate to faster growth, higher margins and efficient delivery models Microsoft MCTS Training.

Today we are a CMMI (capability maturity model integration) level 5 company with a global foot print of nine offices, a 700-strong multi-cultural work force and a revenue of $ 75 million.

The people who have best related to our model are other entrepreneurs and very close friends/family who have watched us care and feed TAKE over the past six years. The over-riding emotion that drove us was self-belief in our dream. We don't really know what else to do in both good times and bad, except continuing to build on our dream.

Our dream was to create a product company in India that would have a non-linear growth model - a dream to be the world leader in supply chain management and life sciences. We wanted to be a company that the budding entrepreneurs around the world and in Silicon Valley would like to emulate.

Long back, I came across this quote: 'A human mind cannot think of what it cannot achieve.' The inverse of that is - the human mind can only think of what it can achieve. This got engraved in my mind. You get addicted to dreaming and building things, not just for the financial rewards, but for the feeling you get when you see employees loving their jobs, or customers who are addicted to your products, or a world that 'in some small way' has one less problem, or one more smile. I think this explains why people like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Richard Branson keep showing up for work every day MCITP Certification.

I believe that there are no destinations for TAKE. Every dream achieved is just a big milestone on a long journey. And it hasnĂ¢€™t changed our dream, except to make it bigger.

Passing Your MCTS Exams On The Road To Microsoft MCTS Certification

Passing Your MCTS Exams On The Road To Microsoft MCTS Certification

To earn the Microsoft MCTS certified systems engineer certification and to prove expertise in designing and implementation of the infrastructure for business solutions based on the Microsoft MCTS Windows 2003 platform and Microsoft MCTS Windows Server system, MCTS exam is the best medium.

MCTS exam is held to improve the expertise in designing and implementing Windows Server 2003 and other issues related to it. In order to take an MCTS exam one needs to go through a fourteen-day MCTS training boot camp that helps in successfully becoming an MCSE. They use custom developed curriculum that is designed to provide both exam preparation and practical technology skills, ensuring that the examinee shall be ready for the performance based testing Microsoft MCTS has introduced in their certification programs. Experience instructors have been arranged who posses many years of experience of working wit Microsoft MCTS operating system and technologies both in the field and in the classroom.

Computer labs are designed using genuine PC technology, which provides each student having the ability to access various Microsoft MCTS operating systems simultaneously on their desktop. Due to this facility provided for MCTS exam, students can access any time to practice for the exam throughout in order to maintain their progress and determine the areas that require further study of those Microsoft MCTS operating systems.

Different kinds of resources are provided to both students and instructors under this boot camp while preparing for MCTS exam. These resources are based on web and also distribute them after and before the classroom session so that both of them can share information. The online forum assists them to analyze different methods of programming. These centers are available for obtaining the MCITP certification goals. Pre-class preparation is essential to ensure complete success in an MCTS exam.

In the beginning materials and instructions are handed out which define as to how to prepare for the exam. In addition to this, as earlier mentioned one gets to access online resources, which provide detailed course information, and additional preparation resources. These resources related to the discussion forums and private questions posed to the instructors also help in preparing for the MCTS exam as they help in clearing doubts and difficulties.

The boot camp for MCTS exam is set up to ensure the success rate for the examinees as well to prepare them before beginning of the classes. One testing voucher per MCTS exam is included with the course material. It ensures that the examinee is not misled. The limitation for the MCTS exam is provided during the class. Cost of retaking is borne by the examinee in case if he is unable to appear on the scheduled date. Also, if one feels that he would not be ready to take one or more exam during the boot camp then vouchers are handed out to enable the examinee to take the exam at a later date. This course can be retaken at free of cost but the testing fee and the courseware fee is not included. The validity for retaking the exams stands for six months.

The candidates should have at least one year of experience in using Windows NT, Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 server in a networking environment to be eligible to attend the boot camp for the MCTS exam. Along with this there are several other pre-requisites for taking the exam. The candidate should have the knowledge of general networking concepts, IP addressing and sub-netting Active Directory Networking services. This gives the opportunity to brush up on technology skills and fill in any gaps in the knowledge base.

Get MCTS Certified In 7 Days

In order to force people to upgrade more quickly, Microsoft has, in it's infinite wisdom, decided to retire the Windows NT 4.0 certifications. Thus, on December 31, 2001 any and all MCTS certificate holders who still have not upgraded will need to remove those four letters from their resume and business cards.
It now appears that over half (at least 400,000) of these MCTS's will be invalid in under five months! I know from experience that the change from Windows NT to Windows 2000 is not an easy one, and given that many people actually have to work for a living it's not surprising that so many of them have not had a chance to obtain the new certifications.
There is also a large amount of anger about the policy. It appears that Microsoft is only interested in increasing it's bottom line, which translates into selling an endless procession of upgrades to the operating system and the office suite. It's plainly obvious that Microsoft feels it's dollars come from these upgrades, and thus those engineers who cannot or will not upgrade their certifications have little or no value.

Even worse is that Microsoft has started the path towards Windows XP certifications! A large number of MCTS's have not even started (much less finished) their training for Windows 2000, and now they have to figure out how to upgrade that to Windows XP! And, of course, it's a sure bet that the next version of Windows will follow very quickly after that.
Me and several of the people who work for me have obtained the MCTS Training for Windows NT 4.0. Given that we all work very long hours (a 60 hour week is a short one) and have lives, it's a miracle that even some of is found time to pass these exams.
And now Microsoft is saying that we are no longer valuable. They are directly implying that we are not worthy of their greatness because, well, we are too busy actually putting their products to work to take the time out to study and pass the exams.
We do want to pass the exams and we do want to become certified on Windows 2000. Every single person that works for me strongly desires to pass these tests. Our objection does not come from the fact that the tests exist or that Microsoft is raising the bar or improving their products.

Our objection is the underhanded, sneaky and downright unethical way that Microsoft is forcing us to put pressure on our company and our employers to needlessly upgrade over and over again. The pressure comes from every aspect of Microsoft - from forced upgrades via their licensing practices to their forced certification policies.
Let's play devil's advocate for a minute and see what we can learn. Perhaps Microsoft has to do this because they are more intelligent and have a wider vision than the rest of the world. Microsoft knows they have a far superior product, and in order to ensure that we lesser beings provide the best value for our companies, they are requiring us to upgrade our knowledge. Heaven forbid that companies (especially large ones) actually keep Windows NT 4.0 installed on their networks (much less Windows 95 or 98). To allow that would be completely irresponsible of Microsoft, wouldn't it?
The problem that many of us are facing is that we are stuck with what we've got. We have already invested so much in Microsoft products that it would be extremely difficult to switch to something else. In addition, Windows NT 4.0 SP6a is a reasonably reliable operating system, and the Office 2000 suite is exceptional.
However, every once in a while I get a little whimsical thinking back to the good old days, when I used to run our multi-billion dollar company on two large VAX machines. That's ALL of our applications, every single one of them. Plus hundreds of users, over fifty printers and fax machines and numerous other things. In fact, we ran payroll, accounting, order processing, delivery scheduling, human resources, printing, communications and everything else on those two machines!
To top it all off, we ran for over ten years on these VAX machines without a major operating system upgrade! Yes, there were problems, but constant retraining, reinstalls, service packs, hot fixes and weekly major security alerts were not among them. And compared to the clustering in OpenVMS (the operating system for the VAX and Alpha hardware), the "clustering" in Windows 2000 is a complete joke!
And now I need over 150 servers running Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000! The really sickening thing is I'll bet I could run everything on a dozen or so Unix or Linux servers, or, again, two big Alpha (the successor to the VAX) systems. (It's really too bad that Digital Equipment Corporation, which made the best hardware and operating systems on the planet, could not market their way out of a paper bag).

I think that's what is annoying is and many of our peers the most. The constant need to spend an outrageous amount of time to keep up with the new releases from Microsoft.
I know it doesn't fit into Microsoft's hostile "do it our way and pay us for the privilege" business model, but we would much prefer a different approach to the MCITP certification model. Instead of constantly rolling it forward constantly, invalidating the certifications of those who cannot keep up, why not just append the operating system to the certification?
Why not just make a "MCTS Win4.0" and an "MCTS Win2000"? To me as a manager, it would be far more valuable than the current catch-all scheme. Look at it this way, I could scan a resume for "MCTS Win3.1", "MCTS Win4.0" or "MCTS Win95". Wouldn't that make it easier for me as a manager? You bet!
However, it wouldn't help Microsoft's bottom line, would it?
Fortunately, I am not in the business of helping Microsoft's profit margin. In fact, on my list of worries, that wouldn't even be in the top million! My job, and the job of each and every person in our company, is to support our users by giving them tools which enable them to do their jobs.
To do that, we will get certified on Windows 2000, and probably Windows XP after that. However, we will do it on our schedule, fitting the training and testing time around our jobs and personal lives. In the meantime, we will take a closer look at other alternatives to Windows and Office, because, well, well really don't like this situation. We may, or we may not, change to those alternatives, but before this we were not even looking ... now we are.

The Microsoft Certification Program
Microsoft currently offers several certification titles, each of which boasts its
own special abbreviation. (As a certification candidate and computer professional,
you need to have a high tolerance for acronyms.) Except for the free practice tests
and the Microsoft Certified Learning Consultant
(MCLC) designations, the current certification credentials that Microsoft offers
fall into one of two major categoriesMicrosoft Certifications for Application
Developers and Microsoft Certifications for Information Technology (IT) Professionals.
NOTE
The MCT credential is offered to qualified instructors whom Microsoft can certify to

deliver
training classes to both IT professionals and application developers using Microsoft
Official Curriculum (MOC) courseware. MCTs whose job roles have expanded to incorporate
a high level of expertise in designing and delivering customized learning solutions for
customers can earn the MCLC title.
The Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
Title
The easiest certification title to earn is the MCP designation. This entry-level
certification is designed to provide an individual with the first step on the road
to higher levels of Microsoft MCITP certification. An MCP candidate needs to pass only
one current Microsoft certification exam from any current Microsoft certification
track. You become an MCP after successfully passing at least one qualifying
examqualifying MCP exams include tests from both the application developer
certification category and from the IT professional certification category.
However, not all Microsoft exams qualify an individual for MCP statusfor example,
passing free certification exam questions,

Designing and Providing Microsoft Volume LicenseSolutions to Large Organizations,

does not certify an individual as a Microsoft
Certified Professional (MCP). The list of qualifying certification tracks from which
a candidate must successfully pass an exam to achieve MCP status are as follows:
. MCDST on Windows XP
. MCSA on Windows 2000
. MCSA: Security on Windows 2000
. MCSA Exam on Windows Server 2003
. MCSE on Windows 2000
. MCSE: Security on Windows 2000

Table Corruption After Applying Append Query In Access Database

Table Corruption After Applying Append Query In Access Database

An append query in Microsoft Access adds records from a database table you are working in to another table. You can append records to a table in the current database that you are working in or into another Microsoft MCTS Training Access database. This feature of Access is quite useful when you want to add data to a different table where the data is based upon a selection criteria. However, append queries are not always the best way to add records to another database. There are possibilities of table getting corrupt and .mdb or .accdb file becoming inaccessible. In such situations, you would be required to compact and repair the database or restore the data from an updated backup. And, if nothing seems working, then you have to consider using an Access repair software.

Consider a scenario, wherein, you are running an append query, and receive the following error message:

Microsoft Access can't append all the records in the append query.

Microsoft Access set 0 field(s) to Null due to a type conversion failure, and it didn't add record(s) to the table due to key violations, 0 record(s) due to lock violations, and 0 record(s) due to validation rule violations.

Do you want to run the action query anyway?
To ignore the error(s) and run the query, click Yes.
For an explanation of the causes of the violations, click Help.

Cause
The above error can be encountered if you have a table that has a self-join and Memo fields, and has referential integrity enforced. This may lead to table corruption.

(Referential Integrity refers to a concept which ensures that relationships between tables remain consistent.)

Resolution
In order to resolve this issue, you can consider the following Access database repair steps:

Change the Memo fields to Text fields
Move the Memo fields into a separate table, and then use a 1:1 relationship

While the above steps can fix the problem, you cannot address the same situation with large databases. And, if you use the Compact and Repair utility, it won't work as well. Therefore, you have to rely on third-party Access repair software. Such tools help you in repairing and restoring Access database along with its various components of Microsoft MCITP Certification.

How To Undelete Mac Files From Mac Os X Hard Drive?

How To Undelete Mac Files From Mac Os X Hard Drive?

All your data, that you save on your Mac OS X hard drive is saved in the form of files. The type and format of the file depends upon the application that you are using to create particular file. You can organize and manage files by storing similar types in a folder, also called directory. If there are any unwanted files on your Mac hard drive, you can easily remove them. However, in some cases, you may mistakenly delete any important data from your hard drive and Trash Bin as well. This behavior leads to serious data loss situations and you need Mac undelete software to retrieve the deleted data if there is no backup in place Microsoft MCTS Training.

When a new file is created on Mac OS X computer, Mac assigns disk space for its storage. At the time of creation, an entry is made.It is a data structure, works as a database, for storing, organizing, accessing, and manipulating the files on hard drive. The file system entry contains all related information, such as name, storage location, file type, and file size. When you remove a file from Mac hard drive, only the system entry is deleted.

If you simply delete a file using Delete button of your keyboard, it is moved to Trash Bin folder. Trash Bin is a directory that stores all the deleted files and folder on Mac computer. You can easily restore it from this directory on its original storage location.

However, in case you delete a file by bypassing the Trash Bin folder or empty Trash Bin, it is not possible to restore the file. The file is removed from your hard drive and become invisible. In such cases, you can undelete Mac by restoring the deleted files from most recent backup Microsoft MCITP Certification.

In case you do not have an absolute and valid backup of your mission-critical data, Mac undelete tools come for your help. These are powerful and advanced applications, which methodically scan whole hard drive and extract all lost, missing, deleted and inaccessible data from it.

The Mac file recovery programs are incorporated with highly interactive and self-descriptive graphical user interface to offer quick recovery. They preserve complete integrity of your precious files with read-only and non-destructive conduct.

Stellar Phoenix Macintosh Data Recovery is the most efficient and powerful utility to ensure absolute recovery of your significant files. The software is designed for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, 10.5 Leopard, 10.4 Tiger, and 10.3.9 Panther. It recovers data from HFS, HFS+, HFSX, HFS Wrapper, and FAT volumes.

I passed Microsoft Deployment Toolkit Exam

I passed Microsoft Deployment Toolkit Exam

I wrote the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit exam this past Wednesday. The exam number is 70-635, TS: Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2008, Desktop Deployment and I managed to pass. I don’t use the Zero Touch (ZTI) features of MDT, no SCCM, no SMS, no MOM. I exclusively use Light Touch (LTI) with WDS and sometimes a USB boot key for my installs in my production environment, which put me at a slight disadvantage for the exam. Unfortunately, there are no training guides for this exam as of yet. There are study guides for 70-624 which cover BDD, the predecessor to MDT. So those will help a little. There were also some podcasts which covered ZTI and the preparation I did for TechDays helped me cover the areas I didn’t know as solid for this Microsoft MCTS Training exam.

There was close to 80 questions on this exam, so this is not for the faint of heart. All in all, 70-635 was a good solid exam covering all facets of Office 2007 and Windows Vista deployment with MDT. With 76 or so questions to write, it is time consuming, but worth it if you want to prove your worth with Microsoft Deployments Microsoft MCITP Certification.

Chrome Web Store

Chrome Web Store

Apple's iPhone is such a phenomenon that few people recall that what makes it so successful—that wonderful app store with its 200,000 third-party apps—was originally not part of the plan. In fact, Apple wanted to severely limit developers interested in the iPhone and provide them with access to mobile web apps only. After much public criticism and outcry, Apple relented and opened up the iPhone to developers and unleashed its app store Microsoft MCTS Training.

Unintentional or not, Apple's success with the app store means that every top-tier mobile platform needs such a store, and Google's version, Android Marketplace, has been quite successful, with over 60,000 apps. Building off of this success, Google is opening a Chrome Web Store that will provide similar functionally for web applications running in Google's browser, Chrome, and its upcoming netbook/cloud OS, Chrome OS.

Alternatively obvious and genius, the Chrome Web Store makes sense because it's currently hard for users to find high-quality web apps. There's no central place to browse reviews and ratings, find popular web apps, or interact with others who use the same solutions Microsoft MCITP Training.

From Microsoft's perspective, the problem with Chrome Web Store is that it's Chrome focused. The apps will run in other modern browsers, but the experience is far more complete on Google's products. Opening its own store won't really solve the problem. Microsoft's own online marketplaces have seen little success, with the exception of the consumer-oriented Xbox Marketplace. That doesn't mean that Google's store will take off, but give them credit for filling a need.

Hyper-V Live Migration: A Step-by-Step Guide

Hyper-V Live Migration: A Step-by-Step Guide

Live migration is probably the most important technology that Microsoft has added to Hyper-V in Windows Server 2008 R2. It enables virtual machines (VMs) to be moved between Hyper-V hosts with no downtime. Using live migration, you can migrate all VMs off the Hyper-V host that needs maintenance, then migrate them back when the maintenance is done. In addition, live migration enables you to respond to high resource utilization periods by moving VMs to hosts with greater capacities, thereby enabling the VM to provide end users with high levels of performance even during busy periods Microsoft MCTS Training.

Live migrations can be manually initiated, or if you have System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 and System Center Operations Manager 2007, you can run automated live migrations in response to workload. You need to complete quite a few steps to set up two systems for live migration, and I’ll guide you through the process. First, I’ll explain how live migration works. Then I’ll cover some of the hardware and software prerequisites that must be in place. Finally, I’ll walk you through the important points of the Hyper-V and Failover Clustering configuration that must be performed to enable live migration.
How Live Migration Works

Live migration takes place between two Hyper-V hosts. Essentially, the VM memory is copied between Hyper-V hosts. After the memory is copied, the VM on the new host can access its virtual hard disk (VHD) files and continue to run. Both hosts access shared storage where the VM’s VHD files are stored. When you initiate a live migration, which Figure 1 shows, the following steps occur:

1. A new VM configuration file is created on the target server.

2. The source VM’s initial memory state is copied to the target.

3. Changed memory pages on the source VM are tagged and copied to the target.

4. This process continues until the number of changed pages is small.

5. The VM is paused on the source node.

6. The final memory state is copied from the source VM to the target.

7. The VM is resumed on the target.

8. An Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is issued to update the network routing tables.
Requirements for Live Migration

On the hardware side, you need two x64 systems with compatible processors. It’s best if the host processors are identical, though it’s not required. However, they do need to be from the same processor manufacturer and family—you can’t perform a live migration when one host has an AMD processor and the other host has an Intel processor. Learn more about Hyper-V processor compatibility in the Microsoft white paper “Virtual Machine Processor Compatibility Mode.”

In addition, each of the servers should be equipped with at least three NIC cards, running at 1GHz: one for external network connections, one for iSCSI storage connectivity, and one for node management. Ideally, you’d have another NIC dedicated to the live migration, but the live migration can also occur over the external network connection—it will just be a little slower. It’s important to note that if you’re implementing a server consolidation environment, you will want additional NICs for the network traffic of the VMs Microsoft MCITP Certification.

On the software side, all the nodes that take part in live migration must have Server 2008 R2 x64 installed. This can be the Standard, Enterprise, or Datacenter editions. Live migration is also supported by the Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 product. In addition, the Hyper-V role and the Failover Cluster feature must be installed on all servers participating in live migration.

You also need shared storage, which can be either an iSCSI SAN or a Fibre Channel SAN. In this example, I used an iSCSI SAN. Be aware that the iSCSI SAN must support the iSCSI-3 specifications, which includes the ability to create persistent reservations, something that live migration requires. Some open-source iSCSI targets such as OpenFiler don’t have that support at this time. If you’re looking to try this for a local test and don’t want to buy an expensive SAN, you might want to check out the free StarWind Server product at www.starwind.com.
Failover Cluster Networking Configuration

Failover clustering is a requirement for live migration. You can live-migrate VMs only between the nodes in the failover cluster. The first step in creating a failover cluster is to configure the networking and storage. You can see an overview of the network configuration used to connect the Windows servers in the cluster to the external network and to the shared storage in Figure 2.

In Figure 2 the servers are using the network with the subnet of 192.168.100.xxx for client connections. The iSCSI SAN is running on an entirely separate physical network which was configured using the 192.168.0.xxx IP addresses. You can use different values for either of these IP address ranges. I selected these values to more clearly differentiate between the two networks. Ideally, you would also have additional NICs for management and an optional live migration connection, but these aren’t strictly required. Live migration can work with a minimum of two NICs in each server.
